Louis van der Vyver

NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, CHAIRMAN

Louis started off his career in Law. He completed his B. Proc Law Degree (4 years) at the University of Pretoria in 1982 and was admitted as an attorney at the age of 22. He practiced law as a partner at a small boutique property firm before joining a large corporate law firm as an associate. After practicing law for a total of 4 years, his ambition was always to join the business world. Before taking this next step, Louis enrolled for his MBA degree in 1987 at the Business School at the University of Pretoria, today known as GIBS. Upon completion all subjects and his thesis, he joined Central Merchant Bank (Senbank) as a consultant in the Project Finance (Structured Finance) Department. During his tenure at Senbank he was involved in many local and international transactions. In 1990 Louis started an Integrated Property Consulting Company with Partners which lead to the formation of Invest Group Projects in 1991. The Group specialised in various property developments, from hospitals, Retail & Offices, Residential and Leisure. In 2017 Invest Group Projects was rebranded as Waterford Bridge Group. The Group continued in the same focus areas of property development. During the many years a number Businesses Ventures were created or acquired over the years. Many had an underlying property as the backbone which required a fully functional and profitable business to add value to the property. Examples of these businesses are Hospitals, Clinics, Medical Centres, Logistics, Country Clubs, Hospitality Businesses and Leisure venues. During the last 30 years he had exposure to a wide variety of transactions and businesses, ranging from structuring & funding arrangements to the actual creation of new businesses. Such would be the development of hospitals, the formation of a group of hospitals, ultimately the listing of the hospital group. Over the last couple of years his interest has been diversified to the development of People either through Entrepreneurship or alternately through Mentoring. Currently the scope has widened and investment has taken place in a number of entrepreneurial ventures.

Antonie van Wyk

Antonie van Wyk

INDEPENDENT MEMBER - CHAIRPERSON

Antonie has a diverse background in law, structured finance, banking and property development. He started his career in legal practice where he specialised in commercial and tax law. In January 2000 he left practice and was appointed as a director of Catalyst Property Finance (Pty) Ltd. Catalyst was set up as a property structured finance business with a view to the selling of tax and financial products to clients.
In 2004 Antonie joined Nedbank’s Corporate Property Finance Division as a Senior Relationship Manager in their key client team. During this time he focussed on structured lending to high-networth clients, corporates and listed loan stock companies. He was, for example, intimately involved in the funding application for the One & Only Hotel at the V&A Waterfront. A core component of his work involved the preparing and presenting of credit proposals to the Bank’s credit panels up to Board level. In the process he obtained significant experience in risk and credit assessment and structuring.
The knowledge that Antonie obtained in financial structuring and property lending came in very
handy when he decided to leave Nedbank to pursue property development as a partner in a startup business. His involvement in the property industry continued thereafter in different capacities and he participated in a number of successful commercial, residential and industrial developments
and investments.
After a number of years in the property industry Antonie decided to complete the circle by re-entering legal practice where he now specialises in commercial law (which includes, amongst others, contract law, tax law, financial services law, company law, credit law, partnership law, trust law and employment law), business structuring, balance sheet restructuring, mergers and acquisitions and cross-border transactions.
